Visual effects company files for Chapter 11.

The hologram projection of rap icon Tupac Shakur at this year's Coachella music and arts festival was an international sensation, but that wasn't enough to prevent one of the company's that created the illusion from going out of business. Digital Domain, the visual effects company that created the CG Tupac image, filed for bankruptcy on Tuesday.

Digital Domain had only gone public last November. Though it filed for Chapter 11, it has already sold its core business to the private investment firm Searchlight Capital Partners for $15 million.

Founded nearly 20 years ago, the company had difficulty bringing in enough revenue to keep pace with rising production costs in recent years. Digital Domain was co-founded by film giant James Cameron and worked on several high profile, effects-laden blockbusters before Tupac, including Titanic and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

What this all means for the future of Hologram Tupac is still up in the air,bet snoop will keep him UP there```
